Printing on clothes spread in China, where such wooden blocks with ornaments appeared. Block printing and screen printing gradually became popular throughout the Asian continent before coming to Europe. At the beginning of the 17th century, printed textiles began to be shipped to England. In England itself, the textile printer did not appear until the end of the 17th century. In the 18th century, printing on clothes spread rapidly throughout Europe, and the French became famous for their mastery of this craft.
